The new innovation camp – “Projects for girls-entrepreneurs”

On October 5th and 6th, 2021 in ARGI Center, Silistra, the new Innovation Camp will be held for the fifth time with the participation of girls from Silistra District. The event is organized by RWU – Silistra, Silistra Municipality, Department of Education and Youth Activities and NGO “Parallel – Silistra”.

Following are some facts about the previous editions:

  • More than 180 young people from different schools from Silistra district took part.
  • 50 innovative youth ideas for the development of the cross-border region were discussed.
  • The participating teams were supported and consulted by  representatives of the Rotary Club-Silistra and the business community in the city, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Acces Association from Calarasi, Romania.

During the recent years, the camp is held in 2 stages – preparatory, which was attended by professors from the University of Ruse “A. Kanchev ”and Nikolay Nekov, our fellow citizen, president of the Youth Business Club, founder of a company for business consulting and advertising, and practically, in which young people developed specific business ideas.

This year, 20 girls from XI and XII grades, representatives of five schools from Silistra district will take part in the Innovation Camp. On October 5th, they will be included in a training for developing  entrepreneurship and business models. And on October 6th, they will develop their projects and business plans to suggest new businesses in the cross-border region.

Participants will have the task to assess the opportunities for business development in the region using its potential and how to start their business initiative in the regional community. The challenge for them will be to assess their own capabilities, skills and knowledge to help them in the business venture.

In connection with the Guidelines for work in the system of preschool and school education in the school year 2021 – 2022 in the conditions of COVID – 19, the event will be held in strict compliance with anti-epidemic measures.
